When creating custom sized area rugs made from broadloom carpet, the edges need to be finished. Lead time for machine applied binding in about 4 weeks, this assumes the material is in stock in the US and ready to ship at time of order. Please read below for options and images.

Machine applied serging (wool, cotton or poly yarn) & narrow cotton binding.
- We serge area rugs most often and find this method the strongest and most durable.
- Cotton serge yarn is offered in more colors and has a tighter hold on material compared to wool.
- Flat woven material or harder to match materials we suggest cotton.
- Wool is a great choice for thicker and or piled material and high traffic areas.
- Polypropylene yarn is selected for indoor outdoor material.
- Hand Sewn cotton binding, offered for glove fit area rugs and stair runners. This method has invisible stitching and very low profile
- Wide binding with blind stitching and mitered corners(shown in cotton below), can also be done in linen, polypropylene & leather
- Hand applied serging is available on select items.
